Corporate Law Clerk

Essential Functions:

• Draft documents relating to Ontario, Federal and not-for-profit corporations, including incorporations, amendments, continuations and dissolutions, and relating to business names, extra provincial registrations and limited partnerships

• Assist with the preparation of annual maintenance documents including ISC information/transparency register filings Ontario, Federal and extra provincial entities

• Draft documents relating to simple share and asset transactions

• Conducting minute book reviews, preparation of minute book review memos and drafting documents to correct minute book deficiencies

• Communicate directly with clients at the direction of lawyers

• Independently manage files

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years corporate law clerk experience at a major Canadian law firm

• Diploma in Law Clerk studies from an accredited Ontario college or completion of the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario Certification

• Experience working in a corporate database

• Professionalism and ability to interact and effectively communicate with individuals at all levels

• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, handle a fast-paced work environment and to deliver a high quality of work

• Ability to exercise independent judgment and be a strong team player
