Adam Weryha spoke on a panel entitled Managing the Cross-Border M&A Process—Client and Lawyer’s Perspective at the American Bar Association's 2023 ILS Annual Conference, which was held under the theme of Back Together.
The panel focused on the challenges involved in cross-border transactions when acquiring international businesses. Panelists discussed the extent to which lawyers need to have excellent management skills to manage the project efficiently or whether non-lawyer project managers should manage such transactions. They also spoke on whether there is a preferred approach to align the closing of a business deal across multiple countries and to coordinate legal issues arising in different jurisdictions to make all the pieces of the puzzle fit.
