Overview

Aldona has over 25 years of experience as a responsive and pragmatic management-side employment lawyer. She skillfully counsels businesses in an array of industries about the wide scope of legal issues that arise in the workplace. She is highly esteemed for partnering with clients to achieve practical legal solutions tailored to their specific needs.

Her expertise covers legal issues arising throughout the employment life cycle, including:

  • the negotiation and drafting of executive employment agreements and advising on other onboarding-related legal issues and ongoing compliance matters (labour and employment standards, human rights, accommodation, French language matters and privacy in the workplace)
  • acting as a senior advisor to businesses managing employment issues raising material reputational or legal impacts
  • advising on compensation, terminations and other transitions of employment for key employees

In her advocacy role, she regularly represents employers in workplace disputes before various administrative and other decision-making bodies.

An important part of her practice involves using her specialized expertise in large and complex corporate transactions. This includes advising on the legal ramifications of M&A on the workplace and drafting related agreements (such as purchase and sale agreements, retention agreements, restrictive covenants). She also guides clients with integration and compliance matters following the completion of transactions.

An engaging speaker with a desire to share her knowledge, she regularly provides training and informational sessions for clients on the topics that are shaping their workplaces.

Before commencing her legal practice in Québec in 2007, Aldona lived and practiced law in Vancouver for many years. She continues to be a practicing member of both the Barreau du Québec and the Law Society of British Columbia.

She is recognized in Chambers Canada 2024 for Employment & Labour law in Québec.

,,Aldona's 'advice and guidance through various labour issues has been of great value. She is very responsive and thoughtful.',,
