Overview

Larry Sandrin's practice focuses on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, development and leasing, with an emphasis on major governmental approval processes in comprehensive development and infrastructure projects.

Larry's work involving governmental approvals has included agricultural land reserve determinations and releases, official community and development plans, re-zonings, subdivisions and complex development and building permit processes.

Larry has completed many significant commercial transactions of a wide variety of real estate portfolios and investment properties for local, national and offshore investors and public bodies.

He has advised and assisted in many infrastructure projects, including P3s, relating to transportation, civil works, healthcare and education projects.

Larry is a past director of the BC Branch of the Canadian Diabetes Association and a past governor and Vice-Chair of the Collingwood School Society in West Vancouver.

Planning, rezonings, subdivisions, infrastructure construction and site sales, from concept to completion, of Marathon Realty's Coal Harbour Project, including all negotiations with City of Vancouver through five major rezonings, joint ventures and co-ownership agreements, governance, corporate re-organizations, and dispositions, generating land sale proceeds from residential, office, hotel, marina and convention centre development sites, and overall project development values exceeding $4 billion.
Development, leasing, financing, subdivision and sales of Marathon Realty BC office buildings including all dealings with B.C. Transit/TransLink on public transit guideways and stations.
Negotiation of construction, management and financing agreements for Freshwater and Wastewater Treatment Facilities on Vancouver Island and elsewhere in British Columbia on behalf of private and public entities.
Advising Project Management Team on major real property issues relating to Canada Line Rapid Transit P3 Project.
Future Vancouver Convention Centre Expansion Projects: currently advising B.C. Pavilion Corporation in connection with contemplated expansions of the Vancouver Convention Centre and a related hotel precinct project, in cooperation with Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.
Vancouver Convention Centre (Vancouver): advising Marathon Realty on the development of the entirety of Coal Harbour, concluding with the rezoning, subdivision and sale to the Province of the Vancouver Convention Centre (West) site.  Subsequently, advising B.C. Pavilion Corporation on the Vancouver Convention Centre Expansion project, through design, permits, construction and commissioning of the Expansion to serve the 2010 Olympic Games and the Greater Vancouver region afterwards.
