Stephen Burns spoke at the Future of Energy Global Summit in Banff held on November 17–18 2025. The Summit brought together leaders from across Canada’s energy, technology and Indigenous communities and the investment sector to examine the road to delivering more energy and better major projects in Canada.
Stephen served in a key leadership role throughout the program, moderating two technology-focused sessions and delivering the event’s closing remarks. In “The Business of Energy and AI” he led a discussion with Aaron Manz and Jerry Lai on how artificial intelligence is transforming commercial strategy, operational efficiency and innovation across the energy sector. He also moderated “AI – Running Tomorrow’s Business” featuring Adam Burley, Michelle Mattie and Robbie Butchart, where the panel explored AI-enabled business models, the rise of data-driven decision-making and the competitive advantages created by responsible adoption of emerging technologies.
Stephen concluded the Summit with the closing wrap-up remarks, highlighting insights from the program and reinforcing the growing intersection between energy, AI and major project development in shaping Canada’s long-term energy future.
