Overview

Mahnaz Jan Ali serves clients with a rare combination of legal experience in private practice and institutional investment. She was previously Director of Legal Affairs in the transactional investment group at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ).

Mahnaz's experience includes acting for banks, borrowers and financial institutions in sophisticated secured and unsecured lending transactions. These include international and cross-border financings, syndicated loans, acquisition financings, and construction, real estate, corporate, equipment, and project financings.

She has acted for high profile Canadian and international clients and institutions on various complex renewable energy projects' acquisitions and financings, including wind farms, solar and hydroelectric projects.

Mahnaz has over 10 years of legal experience at another national law firm in Montréal and nearly two years' in-house experience at CDPQ.

Mahnaz served as a National Committee Member of the Aga Khan Foundation Canada from 2017-2024.

She is fluent in English, French and Farsi.
