Matt Riskin

Corporate Commercial Litigation

Matt has extensive experience in securities litigation including professional liability of investment advisors and financial institutions. Matt is also experienced in corporate commercial matters, which includes shareholder and contract disputes.

Prior to his legal career, Matt worked for several years in management consulting, commodities trading and portfolio management. Clients regularly benefit from Matt's extensive business and industry experience.

Employment Law

Matt also practises employment law and is the first point of contact for his clients on a range of issues, including wrongful dismissal, privacy, human rights and general strategic advice.

Health Law

Matt's medical litigation practice is focused on complex, nuanced disputes, representing physicians in professional negligence claims. In addition, he frequently assists physicians in dealing with professional conduct issues before the College of Physicians and Surgeons and various administrative tribunals and appellate panels.

Matt has appeared at all levels of Court in Alberta and Saskatchewan and has extensive experience before arbitrators and administrative tribunals. As an active member of the community, Matt volunteers his time and expertise to various organizations including the Edmonton Minor Soccer Association, Edmonton Little League, and Edmonton Minor Hockey Association.
